Par Hills Wind Ensemble Takes Top Award at Regional Festival

You know what they say, first time’s a charm.

That’s how it went for the Parsippany Hills High School wind ensemble recently, which participated in its first-ever North Jersey School Music Association Region Concert Band Festival.

Despite its novice level in the competition, the ensemble earned a Gold Rating, the highest a group can achieve, as recognized by the National Band Association.

Students performed “Redemption” by Rossano Galante and “Danzon” by Leonard Bernstein.

Parsippany Hills High School was one of just three bands to earn the top honor.
