A major storm in Germany knocked out power, trees blocked roadways, trains and buses were stopped. The only way to get to our destination to catch our flight was to rent from Avis who took advantage by price gouging everyone and charged us 339 euros for a one day rental. That's about $458, then went on to charge 64 euros for two gallons of fuel, about $85. Tried to resolve this with Avis and our "case" was given to Glenda Cleveland the International Specialist in their Oklahoma office who continues to insist that the price we paid is an average one day rental from Avis. We are now faced with no choice but to file a claim with the State Attorney General in New Jersey since Avis is in violation of the price gouging laws.
