Photos: First Day of School for Parsippany Students

Share your first day of school photos with Patch.

It's a tradition as old as time — or cameras.

Every year on the first day of school, parents have their kids pose in their brand-new outfits for pictures as they head off to the school bus and a new year.

If you have photos to share of your kids on their first day, send them to Kim@patch.com or text them to me at 845-891-6816. And if you have kids that are already off to college, and your kids have texted you a photo, send them, too. We want to share in your special day.

“I miss summer but want to see my friends and I’m looking forward to the new electives,” said Freshman Julianne Caccadale, adding that one of the electives she’s looking forward to is child development because she’s hoping to become a teacher in the future.

For Freshman Nick Ho, a good part of his summer has been pretty busy. He’s been going to football practice, which started July 1. He added that he’s “excited to see friends” now that school has begun.

Freshman Lucas Folan, who will join his brother, a junior, in high school. His father Ken Folan was looking forward to Sept. 9.

“I’m excited for him (Lucas). He’s going to be a freshman and will be opening up to new experiences with new people. He has a good core of friends, so I’m excited that he’ll reconnect with them,” said Ken Folan. “I know his personality and I know he’s looking forward to high school … He was so involved in middle school.”

“We’re all excited to get back to school,” said Teacher Alexandra Partington. You can get in a rut as summer goes on. The kids are ready … but you still want to enjoy summer a little bit longer.”
