Anytime Fitness Ready for Small Business Saturday

Mt. Tabor gym offers morning event for the special day

Anytime Fitness in Mt. Tabor is all set for Small Business Saturday, says owner Eric Skovronek.

The gym, which offers its members 24/7 access to a clean and comfortable fitness facility, is three years old and very much a small business.

"This is a small business owned and operated by local residents," he said. "Even though Anytime Fitness is an international franchise, each is owned and operated locally.  As such, the owners, who grew up down the street, participate in local activities and support many other local organizations."

Skovronek said the enterprise run by himself and his wife Dodi is meant to be a small neighborhood fitness center that serves Parsippany, Denville and Morris Plains.

He said that as the business has grown since its 2009 opening, it's become a real neighborhood fixture that he likens to being "the 'Cheers' of fitness."

"I pretty much know everybody when they walk in the door,” he told Patch.

Skovronek said his center is all about offering members a professional and friendly fitness experience.

And he said he hopes people will check out Anytime Fitness or consider getting gift memberships for loved ones during the holiday season and on Small Business Saturday.

"We'll be here on Saturday from 9-noon," he said. "Local shoppers can take advantage of our internet special of no membership dues until 2013."

According to Skovronek, the holidays are a great time to think about getting fit.

"I'm sure most people are trying to not add 10 pounds of holiday spirit to their waistlines this year," he said. "The best way to do that is to get a head start on your fitness routine by joining a gym now!  Gift certificates are also available.

"Stop by for a free trial."
