DePasquale The Spa Readies for Luxury Shopping Event

Route 10 elite spa joins other upscale merchants to offer a day of pampering to benefit diabetic children.

One doesn't hear much from DePasquale the Spa. The Powder Mill Plaza salon quietly goes about its business catering to audiences who love beauty and demand the best in life. But once each year, the enterprise puts a spotlight on itself in an effort to do good, joining forces with other elite merchants for the premium Spring Shopping Soiree, a multi-venue one-night, exclusive beauty and shopping experience that raises funds for Camp Nejeda, a retreat for children with diabetes.

Nothing says one can't look and feel good while making a positive difference in the world.

On May 4 at 7 p.m., the spa becomes a VIP shopping and beauty lounge for women and men with entertainment, explained DePasquale the Spa Marketing Director Stacey Catalogna .

"This transformation will be courtesy of Neiman Marcus Short Hills," she said. "Ladies are invited to visit the Tory Burch POP Up Shop while the gents can enjoy the cigar lounge provided by J&R Cigar and browse fabulous ties, cufflinks, sunglasses and watches from Tom Ford. Guests are invited to pamper themselves at the new DePasquale Beauty Bar, which will make its debut offering express beauty services and treatments such as brows, braids, knots and other makeup trends.

"In addition to celebrating the latest in fashion and beauty, Ferrari Maserati of Central New Jersey will also be showcasing their hottest cars," she continued. "Ruth’s Chris Steak House will be serving bite-sized versions of their most popular dishes and Pernod Ricard will be providing signature cocktails and scotch tastings."

We were intrigued. Ever mindful of looking and feeling our best, Patch had to find out more about DePasquale and about the charity event. Catalogna and co-owner Justin DePasquale were kind enough to tackle our Spotlight on Parsippany questions.

1. What is the philosophy behind DePasquale the Spa?

Catalogna: To provide superior, quality artistry and superlative customer service in an impeccably clean, creative atmosphere of beauty, image and wellness.

2. What services do you offer?

Catalogna: We are a full service salon that offers a bevy of services, including hair cutting, styling, color, hair extensions, makeup applications and lessions, body bronzing, massages, facials, waxing, manicures, pedicures and body wraps. We are also launching our new Beauty Bar, the hottest bar in town. From lashes to braids, tools to tricks, we invite everyone to see what Depasquale the Spa has to offer. We know your time is valuable—that's why we offer express services with no appointment necessary. Attend one of our exclusive mother/daughter events, a night out with the girls or an event customized to your needs. The possibilities are endless!

3. Your reputation is all about beauty, elegance and luxury. How did business survive the economic downturn?

Catalogna: Over the years we have built a very loyal clientelle that values what we provide at DePasquale.  Regardless of the economic situation people are always willing to spend money for an elite service they cannot find somewhere else; it just might not be as often when times are tough.  We love our clients.

4. The Shopping Soiree sounds heavenly. What is that about?

DePasquale the Spa is known for our superior services, but come every May we are also known for our Spring Shopping Soiree. We follow the philosophy that if you are going to get pampered like a star, you should be entertained like one as well.  That is why on May 4, for one night only, the spa will host its second annual Spring Shopping Soiree.  This highly anticipated event will offer guests an exclusive beauty and shopping experience along with some of the leading retailers in the area, all in an effort to raise funds for Camp Nejeda, a retreat for children with diabetes.

DePasquale: Last year’s soiree was a sold-out success, and I see this event growing annually. Our goal is to cultivate a beauty community that emphasizes the importance of charity in society.

5. Why Parsippany?

Catalogna: Why not Parsippany?  Parsippany is an amazing town, a great place to raise a family with beautiful neighborhoods [and] home to many Fortune 500 corporations. It's a great place to live!
