Lake Hiawatha Firm Honored for Interior Design Excellence

Two members of the Santiago Design Group were recognized for their work on buildings in northern New Jersey.

Parsippany-based interior planning and design company Santiago Design Group received awards for excellence in corporate design from the New Jersey Chapter of the American Society of Interior Designers. The professional association held its biennial awards dinner Sept. 13 in West Orange.

Suzan Lucas Santiago, SDG's founder, is an interior designer in her own right, and her work on the Prudential offices in Newark was rewarded with a Gold Award for Corporate Design. The Prudential project also netted Santiago an Award for Design Excellence in the Sustainable Environmental category—along with another for Universal Design. She also won a Bronze Award of Design Excellence in Recreation for designing the Athlete Development Institute in Cedar Knolls.

SDG designer Wendy Cruz-Gonzalez was also honored for her work on the Newark Prudential project. She received a Gold Award, a Universal Award in the Medium Corporate category and an Environmental Recognition Award.
