Morristown Medical Center Ranked No. 3 in NJ

US News and World Report polled doctors across the nation.

A U.S. News and World Report 2013 survey of physicians throughout the nation ranks Morristown Medical Center as the #3 hospital in New Jersey.

Physicians polled honored the institution with two national rankings: 38th in cardiology and heart surgery and 37th in gynecology.

The hospital was among 148 facilities—only about 3 percent of the 4,793 studied—to earn a ranking in even one of the 16 specialties.

Additionally, Morristown's hospital was classified as "high performing" in nine adult specialties: cancer, diabetes and endocrinology, gastroenterology, geriatrics, nephrology, neurology and neurosurgery, orthopedics and pulmonology.

It is also ranked as the #10 medical facility in the New York metropolitan area.

Morristown Medical Center, a teaching hospital, had 33,976 admissions in the most recent year reported, 77,093 emergency room visits, and performed 12,387 annual inpatient and 15,207 outpatient surgeries.

U.S. News also reported that an August 2012 patient survey showed 76 percent of patients rated MMC highest or very high (state average 62 percent) and 82 percent (state average 65 percent) would recommend the facility to a family member or friend.

Anyone that has dealt with AHS (Morristown Memorial) leaves with the impression they are a bunch of thugs squeezing the last bit of profit from the town of Morristown or the Doctors that serve them. The administrators are making huge million dollar salaries and hide under the veil of the institution being non-profit. Time for this sham to start paying there far share of the property taxes in this town. When you need healthcare, choose quality over convenience.

I hope you left a complaint about the bathrooms...at the office. Housekeeping should not be allowed to get away with that. Bathrooms that are used as heavily as those should be checked & cleaned more often.

haha you guys are crazy. Morristown Medical Center was ranked #1 for best doctors in the state. If you dont like it, go somewhere else. But when you have a heart attack and the other hospitals can't save you..I hope your families dont don't go crying to the #1 heart hospital because your foolish and rude. Congrats MMC!

I had a experience with the ER, There was a tool used in testing for women that was exposed in the sink that my wife found when she was cleaning me up from some bloodwork I had done. It was a cardiac emergency but there wasn"t a cardilogist on duty, I would have to wait till the next morning. Cardiac speciality hospital without the doctor. This hospital leave alot to be desired in this care. As always the staff was laughing and looking at pictures on the computer. 8hrs. and there was no one to help me in the Cardiac Unit. I have had many bad experiences with this Hospital. Why did they change the name ?

Sure, Ange, because that's exactly what anyone can do in the throes of a heart attack: go hospital shopping. Now for the important stuff: learning how to spell possessives.http://freeology.com/grammar/your-youre-worksheet/
