Social Media in Job Seeking Is Focus of Chamber Seminar

The Parsippany Area Chamber of Commerce presents a free educational offering for job seekers and business owners Tuesday.

The Parsippany Area Chamber of Commerce presents a new seminar as part of its Employment Outreach Program Tuesday.

The free event, called "Social Media Effectiveness, A Workshop for Job Seekers and Business Owners" takes place from 10-11:30 a.m. Tuesday at Centenary College, 300 Littleton Road.

Entry to the event is free of charge, however advance registration is required and space is limited to 50 attendees. For event details andregistration, please visit ParsippanyChamber.org.

"At the chamber’s last workforce development event in January, attendees learned valuable lessons about creating a personal brand," said PACC Executive Director Craig Schlosser. "This month’s seminar will answer questions such as: which social media venues to use, how to be effective using them, time-wasters and enhancers, facing fears and overcoming obstacles.

Introduced by career transition coach Neil Cooper, who chairs the PACC Employment Outreach Committeet, the workshop will be facilitated by Dolores Stammer, regional director of the NJ Small Business Development Center of Northwest Jersey. Schlosser said Stammer specializes in development, growth and consolidation issues, and advises on matters involving design and implementation for a target market. She also has experience teaching both undergraduateand graduate level courses in a variety of business disciplines: marketing, management, economics, quantitative analysis, and technology.

“Employees are one of our most valuable assets in every organization," said PACC President Robert J. Peluso. "We recognize this fundamental concept and promote Parsippany’s talented workforce though the chamber's Employment Outreach Program.
