What Should Fill Baldwin Shopping Center Vacancies?

Patch wants to hear your ideas for filling empty business buildings.

The Baldwin Shopping Center is a tidy little strip mall that stands at the intersection of Baldwin Road and bustling Route 46. The center is not especially large and it is presently being renovated, providing more attractive exteriors for some really cool merchants.

There is the , recently named the Parsippany Patch Readers' Choice winner for Best Italian Restaurant. There is , which this week is one of the contenders in the Readers' Choice contest. And there are others, among them ,  and .

But the shopping center's marquee sign features a lot of empty spaces where merchants' names should be, and that does not sit well for a town that needs to boost its ratables.

Tell us: What types of retail businesses do you think would fit into the Baldwin Shopping Center? Keep in mind the interesting nature of this mall, right near residential homes and apartments, a church and the Route 46 commercial thoroughfare.

Let us know your thoughts and suggestions in the comments. We will take your suggestions and pass them along to the person working to build the business base, Mayor James Barberio, who said he's looking forward to seeing what his constituents think.

Who knows? You idea just may be the one to fill up a cool little strip mall. Share your thoughts below.

I agree with the Starbucks suggestion, or even an independent coffee shop/lounge. I also agree that Baldwin Road could not handle the traffic brought in by a Trader Joe's, and there would not be enough parking for TJ in the Baldwin Plaza. Trader Joe's would definitely work in the current Walgreen's space in Troy Hills shopping center though.
