What Should Replace Blockbuster Video?

Patch wants to hear your ideas for filling vacant business buildings.

When Parsippany lost its Blockbuster Video franchise at 796 Route 46, it wasn't alone.

With the move from traditional brick-and-mortar retail film rental operations to online movie options such as streaming video and services like Redbox, branches of the chain are vanishing like box-office bombs all across the country.

Whatever the reason,  the Arlington Plaza building stands empty—and that is not good for the township. And the former Blockbuster building is not the only vacancy in the shopping center.

Filling the empty anchor space likely would give the retail complex a boost. Right now, merchants big and small can be found at the Plaza, including , , , and the .
