Fischer Barr & Wissinger LLC, Co-Managing Member Presented To Commercial Bank Lenders

Parsippany, NJ – Eric J. Barr, CPA/ABV/CFF, CVA, CFE, Co-Managing Member, Fischer Barr & Wissinger LLC, www.fbwcpas.com presented to commercial lenders at Capital One Bank in Fairfield, NJ.

His topic was “Tax and Cash Flows of Pass-Through Entities,” in which he discussed Current Tax Rates and Laws and how it ultimately impacts pass-through entities and their reported results of operations.

Traditional earning cash flow metrics historically applied by banks and other lending institutions fail to properly evaluate the credit worthiness of pass-through entities – which comprise more than 80% of privately held companies.  Unless and until appropriate metrics are developed, commercial lenders will remain reluctant to lend to privately held businesses. Although the best way to handle pass-through entities has been historically challenged and oft-debated; Barr championed a specific approach which is very flexible and offers a unique way to manage this conundrum.

Eric has more than 40 years of public accounting experience and is a national thought leader and frequent public speaker in connection with the valuation of closely held, family owned businesses.  Eric has conducted seminars on the valuation of pass-through entities to the New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants, the Minnesota Society of Certified Public Accountants and the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants; he has presented national webinars for BV Resources and Consultants Training Institute; and has written articles for The Value Examiner, The CPA Journal and BV Update.  Eric has testified as an expert in the areas of business valuation, commercial litigation, forensic accounting and lost profits analysis.

Eric is a Member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants (NJSCPA), the NJSCPA Litigation Services and Accounting & Auditing Interest Groups, the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants, the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts and the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners.
