Driver Cited in School Bus Crash

Police still investigating whether passengers were wearing seat belts at the time of the incident.

The driver of a received a summons following the incident, said state police.

According to Sgt. Brian Polite, Dudley Houringer Jr. was issued a summons for careless driving.

The sergeant said no other information on the driver was available at present.

Late Tuesday morning, the bus Houringer was driving reportedly crashed into the rear of another bus.

In all, 42 people—40 children and two adults—were sent to area hospitals for minor injuries after one school bus rear-ended another while driving along eastbound Interstate 80 in Parsippany Thursday morning, according to state police.

One of the children was treated at  after suffering from an asthma attack during the incident, state police said.
