Funeral Set for E. Hanover Man Killed By Alleged Drunk Driver

Services take place Friday.

Ralph Politi Jr., the 49-year-old husband, father, community volunteer and business owner died Saturday after being . 

Politi is survived by wife Rosemarie Rubinetti Politi, twin daughters Dana and Danielle Politi, parents Ralph Sr. and Rita Politi, siblings Mary Tracy, Karen Hartman, Donna Zarelli, Debrah Davis, Rachel Chirumbolo, Susan Wecksler, Rita DeMartinis and Jimmy Politi.

Politi was born in Orange, but he lived in East Hanover for his entire life. A 1981 graduate of Hanover Park High School, he grew up to serve on the district's Board of Education.

Politi was involved in the community in a variety of ways: He was president of the East Hanover S.I.D. Development Program, a coach in the East Hanover Recreation Department Girls’ Softball Program, a longtime member of the Brooklake Country Club and a parishioner of St. Rose of Lima Church.

Politi owned and operated Politi Auto Parts and All Jersey Garage Door at 30 Ridgedale Ave. in East Hanover, the site where he was killed last weekend.

Viewings take place at the Leonardis Memorial Home at 210 Ridgedale Ave. in Florham Park Wednesday from 7-9 p.m. and Thursday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Politi is slated for 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Rose of Lima Church in East Hanover.

Politi will be laid to rest at East Hanover's Gate of Heaven Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions are made to the Politi Family, which will allocate any funds collected "to several funds in Ralph’s memory."
