Parsippany-Troy Hills Council to Adopt Budget in the Week Ahead

Check out what's going on this week in Parsippany-Troy Hills.

The Parsippany-Troy Hills Township Council is set to review and adopt the 2013 nunicipal budget this week.

The Council will meet at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at town hall. 

The $62 million 2013 municipal budget was introduced during a May meeting with council members Paul Carifi Jr. and Jonathan Nelson voting against the measure.

Mayor James Barberio attacked them both and called on the councilmen to change their votes when the measure comes up for a final vote.

The  would result in a zero percent tax increase for residents.

Also This Week

The Parsippany-Troy Hills Planning Board will meet for a public session on June 17 at 7 p.m. An agenda is not yet available.

The Parsippany-Troy Hills Zoning Board will also meet on Wednesday, June 19 at 7:30 p.m. At the June 5 meeting, the board continued hearing an application for a proposed temple at the intersection of Baldwin and Troy roads which has been discussed for the past four years.

The hearing is nearing its end, with only two more meetings scheduled. The next meeting will be held on July 17, in which the applicant will bring in his final witness, Madana Gapola, a trustee of the temple.

The final meeting is scheduled for August 7 for closing statements, public comment, and possibly a final ruling from the board.
