2010 Census: Parsippany's Asian Population Shows Largest Gains

White residents showed largest drop.

Parsippany's largest demographic jump in the past decade occurred among its Asian population, which rose from 9,145 to 15, 487, according to the released Thursday.

White residents showed the largest drop, from 37,620 to 33,240.

Overall, the population in the township increased a small amount, from 50,649 to 53,238.

Aside from Asian residents, other minority groups in Parsippany rose only slightly. The population of Latinos increased from 3,535 to 4,430 while black or African American residents bumped from 1,574 to 1,74.

The number of residents who are of voting age—18 or older—also showed some gains in the township, rising from 40,034 to 42,160.
