Gingerbread Cathedral Impresses National Audience

Cookie recreation of Notre Dame lands Mt. Tabor resident in holiday contest final.

Mount Tabor resident Jennifer Roth was selected from hundreds of contestants as one of three finalists in a gingerbread house competition aired on NBC’s TODAY Show earlier this week. Roth, who worked with her eight-year-old daughter Sophia, and her mother, impressed judges with her recreation of Paris' Notre Dame Cathedral.

Roth estimated the total time of the project at a staggering 80 hours, and explained that a recent trip to Paris inspired the holiday baking project.

Laura Morrissette, of Massachusetts, took home the trophy (judged by chef and baker Hans Rockenwagner) with her “eco-friendly” gingerbread house.
