Spring Forward: Daylight Saving Time on Sunday

Clocks will move forward by one hour at 2 a.m. on Sunday.

Ready for more daylight?

Good, because it’s time to set the clocks forward by one hour for daylight saving time on Sunday at 2 a.m. We will be losing an hour of sleep Saturday night, but the sun will be out later, and we should save on energy use because of it.

For example, according to Weather.com, the sun will rise Sunday at 7:13 a.m. in our area and will set at 7:02 p.m.

Saturday, by contrast, Weather.com reports that sunrise was at 6:14 a.m. and sunset will be at 6:01 p.m. Other New Jersey municipalities are within a few minutes of these figures.

Daylight saving time ends on the first Sunday of November, this year Nov. 6.
