The Municipal Alliance Committee, a township advisory committee dedicated to preventing drug and alcohol abuse and destructive decisions holds its monthly meeting Monday at 7 p.m. at the  at 33 Baldwin Road.

Another gathering for the school board: The regular August meeting of the  takes will be held Thursday night at 7 p.m. at the adminstration building, 292 Parsippany Road. The body is expected to complete its fields plan work i an effort to meet the Aug. 23 deadline to apply to the state Department of Education regarding a January referendum to decide the fate of athletic improvements at the township high schools. The board will also deal with last-minute preparations for the start of the 2012-2013 school year. The public is encouraged to attend and share their views.

The township hosts its final offering of the at Veterans' Park Thursday at 7:30 p.m. New Jersey wedding and show band The Infernos will perform, and the concert is free to the public, thanks to .
