Candidates Reflect on Par-Troy School Board Election

Hemenway and Deintinis thank voters for their support, say election loss won't deter them from running again.

Alison Cogan, Joseph Cistaro and Fran Orthwein beat five other candidates for three seats on the Parsippany-Troy Hills school board, each with a three-year term. Frank Neglia beat Anthony T Deintinis for an unexpired two-year term available on the board.

The five candidates who lost were George L. Blair, Dennis Kadian, Tracey Meunier, Timothy P. Berrios and Jonathan Hemenway.

"I would like to congratulate Cogan, Cistaro, Orthwein and Neglia on winning seats on our board of education," Hemenway said. "I have learned a lot from them and from this experience of running. I know that they are what we are looking for in our board members to aid in directing it once again towards the student of our schools.  You will see my name again next year and I will not be discouraged by this outcome.  Lastly, I would like to thank all who voted for me and we will get it next time."

"I want to thank everyone that helped in the election. Thank my wife and children for their support. Hope that the district continues in a positive way for the best interest of the students and staff," said Deintinis.
