This class is an introduction to the art of solo performance. This is for the novice performer or writer looking for stimulus to begin the process of creating a one person show. IF the student has something he/she has been developing, then we will work on that. Student can prepare and/or will end up with three-five minutes of a monologue or performance. It is open to dramatic, comic, as well as musical and dance interpretation. In other words- artists of all backgrounds are welcome.

**Each student will perform their three-five minute act on stage with Kelly on April 27th at 3 pm in HOW TO DO A ONE PERSON SHOW.

ABOUT KELLY KINSELLA

Actor, writer, comedian, Kelly Kinsella, has written and produced four original and critically acclaimed one woman shows. While working as an interactive street performer at Walt Disney World, she penned Excuse Me, I Appear to Have Misplaced My Soul - a hit at the Orlando Fringe Festival. Upon moving to NYC Kelly needed to pay the rent and became a member of the Broadway wardrobe union. Years of working backstage became the inspiration for her work onstage. Kelly Kinsella Live! Under Broadway was featured in BackstageNY as one of the top 20 performances on any New York stage that year. When Thoughts Attack an honest and funny play about anxietycan be seen every Sunday night at The Cell Theatre in Chelsea and at regional theatres and venues across the country. Kelly’s most recent play, How To Do a One Person Show was an official selection of the tenth annual soloNOVA Festival in NYC.
