Parsippany PAL Splits $43K BP Grant

After dividing the pot with eight other local PAL chapters, the Parsippany PAL received $5,375.

Three $43,000 grants were awarded to different local organizations, one of which were the New York and New Jersey PAL chapters.

After splitting it up evenly amongs the eight local PAL chapters, Parsippany PAL (Police Athletic League) received a $5,375 piece of the pie.

The Police Athletic League, an independent youth development not-for-profit organization, will use the grant to fund existing sports programs, new sports equipment and facility maintenance.

BP Branded Marketers of New York and New Jersey presented three separate BP Fueling Communities with these $43,000 grants. The other two local organizations that benefitted from this included the Babe Ruth League and Robin Hood. The donations were from more than 200 local BP station owners through the BP Fueling Communities program, according to BP.

“The program gives back to local organizations that support health, youth, education, food and housing to spread charity and goodwill,” said the company. Since 2011 when the Fueling Communities program was established, BP has donated $1.3 million to the communities it does business in.

“On behalf of the local BP station owners, we’re honored to support these great organizations within our community,” said Joseph Choi, BP gas station owner in Queens. “As a local BP Branded Marketer, we understand the role local businesses play in maintaining and supporting the communities we serve.”
