Salute Veterans in Annual Parsippany Ceremony

Third Graders will sing several songs during the ceremony and Joseph Stella and Krishna Prajapati of Brooklawn Middle School will play Taps.

Veterans have helped keep our nation free and on Monday, there will be numerous ceremonies to mark their contributions.

Parsippany’s American Legion Posts 249 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 10184 will hold their annual Veterans Day Ceremony at 11 a.m. on Monday—the 11th month, on the 11th day, at the 11th hour—at Veterans Memorial Park in Parsippany, according to Matt Adamczyk of the American Legion Post 249.

Bob Briant, Commander of Post 249, will lead the ceremony, which will include the following guests:

  • Monsignor Tillyer, St. Peter the Apostle Church
  • Rabbi Shalom Lubin, Congregation Shaya Ahavat Torah
  • Reverend Susan Sica, St. Gregory's Church
  • Mayor Jamie Barberio

According to Adamczyk, the ceremony will include:

  • The laying of wreaths at the Veterans Monument
  • The Color Guards from American Legion Post 249 and V.F.W. Post
  • Third Graders of Various Township Public Schools will sing “America the Beautiful” led by James Caulfield
  • Third Graders of All Saints Academy will sing “Proud to be an American.” 
  • Michelle Musolino-Roberts will sing “The Star-Spangled Banner” & “God Bless America.”
    Eileen White of the Daughters of the American Revolution will explain the meaning of Veterans Day.
  • Lamb’s Artillery, a Revolutionary War re-enactment group will perform a cannon salute.
  • Joseph Stella and Krishna Prajapati of Brooklawn Middle School will play Taps.
