With the holidays in full swing, two Parsippany elementaries are giving back this season.

The PTAs of Littleton and Intervale schools partnered in the Holiday Cards for Heroes program.

There were more than 700 cards, with each student making one to contribute to this worthy cause, according to Mary Ellen Simpson, President Littleton PTA and Anya Sheiffele, President Intervale PTA.

Each year the American Red Cross gets “the joy of delivering holiday greetings to veterans, military families and active-duty service members at hospitals and installations around the world,” according to the Red Cross. “The cards and personal messages, sent by tens of thousands of Americans, provide a welcome “touch of home” for our troops during the holiday season.”
