Hollister Construction Services Breaks Ground On Comprehensive Renovation Of Staten Island Shopping Center

Hollister Construction Services (Hollister), a leading full-service construction manager specializing in corporate, educational, healthcare, industrial, retail, and residential construction, has begun a major renovation and new construction project for RiverCrest Realty’s Tottenville Shopping Center, located at 7001 Amboy Road on Staten Island, New York. With Rampulla Associates Architects, LLP and George Schell Engineering as their partners, Hollister is adding a 20,000-square-foot building to an existing 45,000-square-foot facility, built in 1963, which is getting a comprehensive renovation.

Hollister is completing the full exterior and interior renovation, as well as the new construction, within a ten-month deadline, while the shopping center remains open for business and new leases are signed; a staged turnover of the addition will follow a strict schedule of dates tied back to leases. The exterior renovation includes a new brick façade, a metal roof, and all-new glass storefronts with new signage and canopies. For the facility’s interior, Hollister is undertaking a “white box” gut renovation, delivering all new lighting, painted walls and floors. Site work includes new paving, curbs, access points and drainage, with 206 parking spaces.

“RiverCrest Realty knew Hollister would provide rigorous safety and premium construction services while maintaining an appealing shopping experience for their customers,” said Kieran D. Flanagan, President of Hollister. “Clients turn to us for these types of challenging projects, whether they entail hard deadlines, public safety issues or complex pre-construction planning. And because high-quality renovations are critical for the future of strong, viable, job-producing neighborhoods, they support Hollister’s commitment to creating sound buildings and sound communities.”
