“In July of 2003, in the midst of a rough economy, I enlisted as a Computers, Networks, Cryptographics and Switching Systems technician in the US Air Force,” he said.

He attended basic training at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas, and technical training at Keesler Air Force Base in Biloxi, Miss., and was stationed at Shaw Air Force Base in Sumter, SC.

“I also deployed to the Middle East on more than one occasion in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom, Operation Enduring Freedom and Joint Task Force – Horn of Africa,” he said.

Viglione then moved back to Keesler Air Force Base as a Technical Training Instructor/Instructor Supervisor/Curriculum Developer for the same course he went through as a student years prior.

“It was there that I finished the remaining four years of my 10-year military career in the rank of Staff Sergeant,” he said.

Viglione's service terminated on June 20 after completing two Associates of Applied Science degrees; one in Electronic Systems and one in Instructor of Technology and Military Science as well as a Bachelors of Science in Information Technology Management.

He currently lives in Jersey City where he is working on a Masters of Science degree in Information Systems Management while investigating new professional opportunities, he said.
