What makes land sacred before property? myth.

 People and their lives of course. In nature property does not exist there is only the land, its plants and animals with their food sources and medicine. These plants and animals became parts of the society of culture within the human realm of existence. Myths truths about these relationships became stories set upon a landscape that happened long ago in time. Time not as we know it but, seasons, suns, moons, summer, winter the time of the ancestors preserved in stories and the ever present time of the world of dreams, for as in life light shines, this same light shines in dreams, even on the darkest night of ancient tellurium Earth the star-beings shone bright the very light of soul or pure power itself, organic living being of continuum was everywhere and man was awed in his place on earth among and part of it all. The sky was the great vault of eternal life,stars were ancients gone to the happy hunting ground.

Frank G Speck an Anthropologist at the turn of the last century interviewed many old people of the once Munsee People who inhabited New Jersey then living in Ontario Canada. Informants Jesse Moses and Nicodemus Peters in 1939 told Speck of several myths concerning bears and people of which the celestial bear is the most important being the foundation of the Bear Ceremony. Bear Ceremonialism being among the oldest forms of organized religion known in human history. From Specks book, I did not neglect to ask Nicodemus Peters directly when he thought the ritual first came into existence. But he was only able to state that it began when the people lived in "the old country of the Delaware and Hudson valleys,back in the United States. 
  How many of you know that the sky-bear the big dipper moves  from left to right across the sky from summer to winter, its handle being 4 hunters whom pursue the celestial bear and in midwinter find him in his den where he is dispatched to heaven in a grand ceremony of recognition, honor and respect. This special bear's presence is revealed to the hunters through a woman's dream. The dream informs the hunters of where the special bear is to be found. All this happening on the NJ Frontier.
