Devoted St. Peter’s Church Lector Dies at Age 88

Madeline R. Dimler was a longtime Parsippany resident and a member of the Rosary Altar Society, Visitation, Lazarus and religious education ministries.

Madeline R. Dimler (nee Born), 88, passed away Monday morning, Nov. 11, surrounded by her family at the home of her daughter in Mansfield Township. Dimler was born and raised in Reading, PA, lived in Levittown, NY, and was a longtime Parsippany resident before moving to Hackettstown six years ago, according to Stephen J. Priola Parsippany Funeral Service

She had been active at St. Peter the Apostle R.C. Church in Parsippany for many years, where she served as a lector, and a member of the Rosary Altar Society, Visitation, Lazarus and religious education ministries. 

Dimler was a devoted mother and a homemaker. Dimler was preceded in death by her husband George A. Dimler in 1997, who had served as a Deacon at St. Peters.

Survivors include her five children, Elizabeth Ann Scerbo and her husband James of DuBois, PA , Margaret Mary Simmons and her husband Mark of Troy, ME., Katherine Nelson and her husband John of Mansfield, NJ, Michael George Dimler and his former wife Sue of Nashville, TN, and Amy Dimler of Sparta, NJ; a sister, Lucille Born of Reading, PA; and twelve grandchildren.
