Former Parsippany Woman Leaves Behind Volunteer Legacy

She lived in Parsippany for 55 years. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Mount Tabor FD and volunteer at the Morris Museum for 15 years.

Joyce M. (nee-McAdam) Scerbo passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 5 at Morristown Medical Center at the age of 81. She was born in Orange and grew up in Essex Fells before living in Parsippany for 55 years. She moved to Rockaway in 2007, according to Par-Troy Funeral Home

She had a strong commitment to volunteerism and was a member of Saint Christopher R.C. Church, as well as their Women’s Society in Parsippany. She was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Mount Tabor Volunteer Fire Department District #1 and dedicated volunteer at the Morris Museum for 15 years.

Scerbo was predeceased by her husband, Frank C., Jr. (2/16/1997), her son, Frank C. III (9/22/2001) and her brother, Robert C. McAdam (2009). Scerbo was a homemaker her life’s greatest joys were her children and grandchildren.

Survivors include her children: Mark W. & his wife, Susan M. of Chesapeake, VA, John D. & his wife, Victoria of Basking Ridge, Jane Masker & her husband, James of Parsippany and Carol Barron of Rockaway; her dear sister, Mary Frances “Dee Dee” McAdam of Morris Plains and her seven grandchildren: Crystal Barron, Ryan, Steven & Jimmy Masker, & Samantha, Colin & Annalise Scerbo.

Her Liturgy of Christian Burial was Monday, Nov. 11 at Saint Christopher R.C. Church and her Interment was at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover.
