Former School Board Aide, Parsippany Resident Dies at 81

Eleanor Johnson spent 56 years living locally, 22 of them working for Parsippany schools.

Eleanor Johnson spent more than half her life living in Parsippany, having moved there in 1958 and becoming an important member of the community.

The former Parsippany Board of Education aide passed away Feb. 11 at the age of 81.

Johnson spent 22 years working for the school district before retiring in 1998. She was born in Newark and grew up in Bloomfield before relocating for good to Parsippany. Johnson was predeceased by her husband, Henry, who died in 2011.

She is survived by three sons, a daughter, and four grandchildren.
