Abracadabra Poof! $1.14 Million in Tax Revenue at Waterview

The fiscal impact report for Waterview has serious flaws and omission of facts.  Even the author of the report admitted that he did not study the impact of big box on the local economy or the increase in police costs for the proposed Waterview development.  Some of the key economic data NOT studied and missing from the report are:

·         Loss of local small businesses and jobs that overlap with big box

·         Loss of property values for commercial, corporate and residential real estate near big box

·         Increased infrastructure costs such as schools, police, fire, water, sewer, and ongoing road maintenance

·         Increased costs to deal with flooding of residential homes, Route 46 and Intervale Road

·         Increased costs to deal with water pollution from salt runoff and heavy metal salts as well as radon into the aquifer and the nearby drinking water well field

If the facts omitted from the study had been included, tax paying voters would learn that the introduction of big box into their community results in increased property taxes for all.
