Morris County Man Convicted of Murdering Wife…

Cory Booker for Governor or Senator?

Patch wants to know what you think.

Newark Mayor Cory Booker said at a Democratic County Committee event in Fair Lawn Wednesday that while he is committed to presiding over his city, he's in the future.

According to Booker, he may have a U.S. Senate seat—or even the governorship—in his sights in 2014.

What do you think, Parsippany? Do you think the mayor would be a good choice for statewide office?

Take the poll and tell us your thoughts in the comments.

Cory has done nothing for Newark and we look forward in getting rid of this clown, The state can have him for the simple fact that it was always his intention to be there instead of being the actual mayor of Newark. He is a clown and good riddens to bad rubbish

I'm a Republican, but was happy to see Booker win over the so-evidently corrupt Sharpe James. If forced to choose, I'd say Booker would make a better legislator than executive, as his tenure in Newark seems to suggest. He's bright, not reflexively liberal on issues, and would do well among the 100-member club known as the US Senate.

The very last thing New Jersey needs is another Democrap looking to get what he can for himself and the hell with the taxpayers and business owners in NJ. Booker said he was going to clean up crime in Newark and make Newark a better and safer place to live. He still hasn't done either, what makes you think he would do any good for this State as a Gov. or a Congressman. Wrong way of thinking.

Depends if he runs for the Senate who he would be running against but I would vote for him in a heartbeat over Christie. I am Independent and vote for the candidate that will do the most for the middle class and poor. Look at the statistics - the rich are getting richer and the poor are getting poorer under Christie and he is a hypocrite regarding the pension reform......What happened to the contributions that were supposed to be made????? Instead he takes away COLA raises even for retirees who may only have their pensions to live on while everything is going up up up. Let's not get into police and firemen's pensions that everyone thinks are outragious - just remember they do not get social security other than possible part time work. I am divorced from a fireman and after 32 years of marriage, I am living off 1/2 of his pension, but if he dies, the pension dies with him. If he remarries and then dies, even for one day, his new wife will have the pension I am recieving for the rest of her life because of a state statute that only has a widows benefit, not a survivor's benefit. Someone that never paid into the pension and the pension was not earned during her marriage good be sitting pretty for the rest of her life and I will be a ward of the state as by own SS is under $500.
