Waterview. Mechanically to Drive Voters into His Column.

Blast from the Past: 10/30/2009

Barberio, believes he will win, in part because he trusts he has a better vision for Parsippany, but also because he helped weld his party together and stands a better chance "mechanically to drive voters into his column. As the last primary demonstrates no such welding took place. His party has rightfully splintered over a Landscape issue; Paul Carifi has turned out so far to be the "real American" in the issue of Waterview Rezone.

The night of August 20 the question was presented to Mayor Barberio; "which of the mentioned contentions of the former mayor (Luther) he won the Election from did he disagree or agree with in his "vision" for Parsipanny? 1. impractical overdevelopment. 2. Preserve additional open space. 3. Look for ways to control traffic congestion. Our Mayor explained this issue; Waterview; was not about any of the above, but the 'right" of a developer to present his vision before the Town. One must now ask, what is this mechanical drive to his voters column? Desperation brought on by an unjust "economic system" that administers work in measure of their desires; ignoring "organic rights of community and sound environmental science; that has not by choice but evidence shown Waterview Landscape to be part of an Essential Water Recharge for our aquifers. The Rutgers University Study, not a political statement but a recommendation from a science study of the Troy Brook and its Wetlands System. Mayor Barberio makes $106,000 a year; is that not enough of a vision? Visions of worth; achieved, one would think?
Vision: definition; an event or thing appears, vividly or "credibly" to the mind, often under influence of a divine or "other agency". We must ask the Mayor, who has promoted Waterview Rezoning more than any, exactly where his 'vision stems'; organic life; divine or other sources; monetary or economic over organic and sustainable?
RDR is a 'mirage' a weakness within the system of injustice that continues to exploit us all for private over public and common good.
Environmentalists are in a culture war whether we like it or not. It’s a war over our core values as Americans and over our vision for the future, and it won’t be won by appealing to the rational consideration of our collective self-interest.” Waterview Landscape should remain as is, free and open for incorporation into a community whom welcomes it. Our Municipal and State open Space Taxes can purchase it. Please tell us why not? Private Property? No one be they individual or corporation has the right to inflict such unreasonable impact on any dissenting community of citizenry.
