3-Car Accident on I-80 Slows Rush Hour Traffic

State police spokesperson said there were no major injuries.

State police say traffic is back to normal on Interstate 80 following a three-car motor vehicle collision during Thursday's rush hour.

Word of a crash involving a GMC Terrain, a Hyundai Santa Fe and a Volkswagen Taureg came at about 4:24 p.m., according to Trooper Christopher Kay. He said officers from the Netcong barracks of the New Jersey State Police responded to the scene of the accident, Exit 42A toward Cherry Hill Road on westbound I-80 at mile marker 42.7.

Kay said there was no report of injuries beyond "one driver or passenger who complained of chest pains." There was no report of anyone being sent to the hospital.

Part of the post-accident cleanup involved removing a collection of drywall screws that were scattered along a stretch of the road as a result of the collision, Kay said.

According to Kay, the investigation into the accident was concluded shortly thereafter. So far, he said the crash was being chalked up to "rush hour" traffic and that there was no indication that any charges would be filed.
