Home Burglary Spree Continues in Parsippany

Park Road resident found home ransacked and jewelry stolen on Wednesday.

A Park Road residence was burglarized Wednesday afternoon—the most recent in a string of Parsippany break-ins.

After being out for about an hour, the Park Road resident returned Wednesday at about 1:30 p.m. and found the home burglarized and the back sliding door ajar, Parsippany Police said.

Detectives determined the sliding door was the likely used to get inside since there were no signs of forced entry, police said.

The master bedroom was ransacked and jewelry was stolen, police said. The value of the jewelry was not immediately known.

The front door, where proceeds from the burglary were found, was likely used to exit the home, police said.

The Morris County Sheriff’s Department's Criminal Investigative Division also arrived at the scene to investigate, according to the release.

This is the most recent of several Parsippany break-ins. Three men were seen fleeing after breaking into a garage on Old Bloomfield Avenue on Sept. 30; Parsippany residents returned home to find their Nantes Road home ransacked on Sept. 18; and a Lake Hiawatha home was burglarized on Sept. 9.

Police said the incident is still under investigation and anyone with information can call the Parsippany Police Department, Investigative Division at 973-263-4365 or email them at crime_tips@parpolice.com.
