Authorities Seek Well-Dressed Bank Robber

Authorities are seeking a man who wore a pinstriped suit, dress shirt, tie and hat when he robbed a bank inside a Parsippany supermarket on Route 46 late Friday morning.

According to the Morris County Prosecutor's Office, an alarm was activated at the Indus American Bank inside the Parsippany Pathmark at 1157 Route 46 East Friday just before noon.

The robber is described as a white male in his early 20s who is about 5-foot-10 with a slim build and facial hair, the prosecutor's office said. The man had a black backpack and was wearing a black, pinstriped business-type suit with a cream-colored or off-white shirt, black tie and a rain-type hat, according to the prosecutor's office.

The man entered the Pathmark, approached the lone teller working at the bank, passed a note to the employee and fled the bank with an unknown amount of cash, the prosecutor's office said.

The Parsippany Police Department, the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crime Unit, Morris County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Section and the Federal Bureau of Investigations are investigating the robbery.
