Authorities Seek Boonton Bank Robber

Man was wearing a black hat and green jacket when he demanded money from a teller at a Boonton Main Street Bank Wednesday morning.

A man who robbed a Boonton bank Wednesday morning and fled on foot is being sought by local and county authorities, the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office announced.

At approximately 10:10 a.m. the robbery at Santander Bank on Main Street in Boonton was reported to police, Acting Prosecutor Fredric Knapp said.

Authorities are looking for a white man, about 5-foot-9 in height who entered the bank and demanded money, Knapp said. He then fled on foot toward Union Street.

During the time of the incident, the suspect was wearing glasses, a black baseball hat and a green zipper jacket, Knapp said. Surveillance images were captured and can be seen above.

The Town of Boonton Police Department, Morris County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit, FBI and Morris County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Unit are all working on the case.
