A former Morris County Prosecutor's Office employee is facing a series of charges related to her alleged falsification of documents and theft of $1,500 in state funding last year, according to NJ.com.
Those charges were filed Tuesday in Somerville Superior Court.
The charges against 43-year-old Morristown resident Marnie Sperling stem from her attendance at a 2012 nursing conference at Walt Disney World in Florida. It is not clear whether Sperling was still working for the prosecutor's office at that time or in what capacity, the article said.
Sperling is accused of committing theft by deception when she knowingly gave the impression that she was permitted to attend the conference and use grant funds to pay for the trip. The court complaint lists times when she allegedly gave false information to the prosecutor’s office in attempts to be reimbursed for airfare, hotel and conference registration expenses, the article continued.
