'Click It or Ticket' Lands Three Teens in Trouble; Theft Reported at ShopRite

The following arrest information was supplied by the Parsippany Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Three teens, one a juvenile, were arrested and charged following a May 29 "Click It or Ticket" traffic stop, according to the Parsippany Police Department.

Officer Alfred Keiser pulled over a 2005 Dodge wagon after noticing that it had an invalid inspection sticker and that a passenger was not wearing a seatbelt. The officer discovered a suspected marijuana "roach" and a grinder often used to grind marijuana into powder, police said.

Brendan A. Brecka, 19, of Livingston, was charged with possession of under 50 grams of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia, police said. Brecka also received summonses for possession of a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle, a seatbelt violation and failure to make repairs, police said.

Brecka and Manassa were released pending a court date. The juvenile was released into his mother's custody.

In a separate incident, Sgt. Yvonne Christiano said police were summonded to the ShopRite supermarket at 808 Route 46 to investigate a theft. The victim told the responding officer that she discovered her wallet missing when attempting to pay for her groceries, police said. The wallet contained personal identifying information including a driver’s license and credit cards.

Christiano warns shoppers to never leave their pocketbooks unattended in the seat portion of a shopping cart.
