Collision on New Road Caused by Drunken Driver, Police Say
Newark man suffered minor injuries in the incident.
Parsippany Police say a Newark man was charged with multiple traffic offenses and with driving while intoxicated following a two-car accident on New Road Saturday night.
Francisco Gervais, 49, suffered minor facial injuries in the collision and was treated at a local hospital, according to a police statement.
Sgt. Yvonne Christiano said Gervais was driving a 1994 Subaru that was traveling south on New Road when it crossed the center lane and struck a 2008 Infiniti going north.

Police said the Infiniti driver was not hurt.
The man was charged with DWI; failure to maintain lane of travel; reckless driving; failure to exhibit an insurance card, registration card or driver's license; failure to notify of address change; violation of probationary driver restriction; consumption of alcohol in a vehicle; possession of an open alcohol container in a vehicle; failure to remove snow and ice and failure to wear a seatbelt, according to the statement.
