Cops: Man Demands Cash, Threatens Motel Manager

Authorities seek white male who made off with more than $300 from Howard Johnson's.

A white male in his 20s allegedly threatened to kill a Route 46 motel manager before making off with more than $300 early Sunday, said.

According to a statement released Monday by Patrolman Earl Kinsey, a spokesman for the department, police are looking for a white male in his 20s who was wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt, a blue ski mask, blue jeans and white sneakers at the time of the incident at the Sunday at about 1:40 a.m.

The motel manager told Sgt. Thomas Pomroy and Officer Peter Rizzolo that a male entered the lobby and threatened his life if he didn't turn over the money in the register, Kinsey said. No weapon was brandished during the incident, Kinsey said.

The man made off with $304 and ran to an awaiting vehicle, described as a light-colored small car, Kinsey said.
