Cops: Masked Man Tries to Rob Gas Station

Attendant hit over the head with a stool after refusing to give up money.

A North Beverwyck Road gas station attendant was assaulted Tuesday night when he refused a masked bandit's demand for money, Parsippany Police said.

According to a release from the , a man wearing a black ski mask demanded money from an attendant at the Tuesday night shortly before 9:30 p.m. After refusing to give the man money, the attendant was struck over the head with a stool before the masked bandit left, police said.

The masked man was described as 6-feet tall who was wearing a black ski mask, a black hooded sweatshirt and khaki-colored pants, police said. The man was joined by a second individual, who was waiting outside and also wearing a black ski mask and a black hooded sweatshirt, police said.

According to police, the two men fled on foot in the direction of Foodtown Supermarket and Volunteers Park.
