Denville Gets New DWI Checkpoint

The anti-drunk driving effort is the result of a grant given to the Morris County prosecutor's office.

A new checkpoint intended to get allegedly drunk drivers off the roadways will be in Denville Aug. 17 and 18, according to Morris County Prosecutor Robert A. Bianchi.

The move is being made thanks to a grant from the state Division of Highway Traffic Safety Administration awarded to the prosecutor's office.

“The goal of the Grant is to cut down on the number of drunk drivers who utilize our roads as well as to prevent crashes that are the direct result from drinking and driving,” Bianchi said in a statement.
