At 7 a.m., Ptlm. Earl Kinsey, Community Relations Officer sent out this traffic update.
"The left lane of Rt. 46 West is now open and passable between North Beverwyck and Baldwin. Utility repairs will continue in the right lane of travel which remains closed. Expect heavy delays in the area."
Plan an alternate route around Rt. 46. At 3:10 p.m. on Monday afternoon, Parsippany Police Chief Paul Philipps sent out an alert announcing that Route 46 westbound is closed to all traffic between North Beverwyck Road and Baldwin Road.
"Several poles have snapped and there are live lines and transformers down," said Philipps, adding that all westbound traffic on 46 will be diverted to either North or South Beverwyck Road.
The closure is expected to last past the evening rush, said Philipps.
