Cops: Fairfield Burglaries Similar to Parsippany Crimes

Investigations into burglarized vehicles in Parsippany, Fairfield and Lincoln Park continue.

Fairfield Police are investigating a string of burglarized motor vehicles the department says are similar to .

Fairfield Police said nine vehicles were hit between the overnight hours of Tuesday and early Wednesday while parked in the lots of several Fairfield hotels. Police said various items of clothing, sunglasses and a GPS unit were reported stolen.

Authorities in Fairfield are seeking the driver of a 2010 black BMW with tinted windows. Police said a random check on the vehicle’s registration revealed that the vehicle was reported stolen in Newark Tuesday. The driver was pursued by officers but was lost; the BMW was last spotted on Route 46 East in the area of Little Falls.

Fairfield Police said Lincoln Park has reported similarly burglarized vehicles as well.

The Par-Troy incidents, reported last Sunday, involved six vehicles parked at residences in the township, according to Parsippany Police. In three of the cases, police said a Garmin Nuvi GPS valued at $300 was reported stolen.
