Residents Escape Condo Fire on Jaime Court

No injuries as pile of mulch ignites early-morning blaze.

say no one was injured in a residential structure fire that broke out early Tuesday morning on Jaime Court in Mount Tabor.

Department spokesperson Patrolman Earl Kinsey said that the call came in at 5:40 a.m.

'When Officer Jeffrey Papienuk arrived, he observed flames coming out of the first floor of the back of the residence," Kinsey said via statement. "He spoke to the residents of the home and verified that all of the occupants were evacuated."

No one was injured, according to police.

A number of responders turned out to help during the blaze, Kinsey said. As both the fire companies battled the conflagration,  set up a firefighter rehabilitation area. Meanwhile, Parsippany Police officers evacuated the attached condominiuum next door to the burning building. also supported operations by refilling spent air bottles used by the firefighters.

Police report that the fire was quickly extinguished and did not spread to adjacent homes. 

The fire apparently started in a pile of mulch that was next to the condo, acccording to police.
