A Wayne man was charged with driving while intoxicated after his erratic driving caught the attention of Parsippany Police last Friday, according to a department statement.
After getting a report of a possible drunken driver, at about 9:49 p.m., Officers Peter Kolln and Robert Smolen headed to Route 53 south, where they saw a red 1998 Toyota SUV “fishtail” as it drove toward the officers, Sgt. Yvonne Christiano said.
After stopping the driver, identified as 28-year-old Michael P. Durant, police placed him under arrest. Subsequently, Christiano said, they discovered that the man had an active DWI arrest warrant in the amount of $1,114 out of Wayne on a DWI charge.
