Human Services Police at the Greystone Psychiatric Hospital found a car parked in bushes on the facility's grounds Thursday night, Morris County Prosecutor Robert A. Bianchi said at a news conference Friday morning.

Bianchi said a license plate check showed the vehicle was registered to Nelson Matos, 56, who lived on Clover Lane in Randolph with his son, Brendon.

Randolph police visited the residence and noticed a bullet hole in a kitchen window, Bianchi said. A closer look allowed officers to see a dead man lying on the kitchen floor with a gunshot wound to the head, Bianchi said. The man was identified as Nelson Matos.

With the participation of local, county, state and federal law enforcement agencies, including the Parsippany Police Department, Bianchi said the Morris County Sheriff's Office conducted an all-night search for the suspect.

Parsippany Police Officer Gerritt Tosh spotted a man fitting the description hiding in brush along Old Dover Road near Greystone, Bianchi said. The suspect was identified as Brendon Matos and he was brought into custody without incident.

The investigation into the case continues. Bianchi urged anyone with information to contact the Randolph Township Police Department at 973-989-7010, the Morris County Prosecutor's Office at 973-285-2900 or the Morris County Sheriff's Crimestoppers at 973-COP-CALL (267-2255).
