Men Fight Over Sauna Seat at LA Fitness

No charges were filed in dispute last Friday night at Route 46 gym.

Two men got into a fight over a seat in a sauna at LA Fitness on Route 46, police said.

Officer Ross Cooper and Sgt. Daniel Bendas responded to a disturbance call at the gym at about 9 p.m. They spoke to one man that said another man had assaulted him while he was in the sauna, Parsippany Police said.

He told police that when the other man got up and left his seat in the sauna, which was near a light, he then moved to where that man was sitting “and began reading a book, police said.

That “man who had left returned a short time later” and tried to reclaim his seat, but “after words were exchanged, the altercation became physical with each man stating that the other was the aggressor,” according to a release from Chief Paul Philipps.

Parsippany Volunteer Ambulance came but neither were brought to the hospital nor arrested and both were advised of the process to file complaints, said police.
