GPS, Pocketbook, Loose Change Stolen in 7 Car Burglaries, Cops Say

Four different streets had cars burglarized on same night, police report.

Seven vehicles on four different roads in Parsippany were burglarized this week, and police are looking for help from the public to help find the criminals.

Burglaries to two vehicles on Cedar Terrace, two vehicles on Wildwood Trail, two vehicles on Hawkins Avenue, and one vehicle on Druid Hill Drive were reported between 9 a.m. and 10 p.m. on May 5, police said. The crimes, however, are assumed to have happened in the overnight hours between May 4 and May 5.

In each case an unlocked vehicle was entered and rummaged through, police said. Not all vehicles had items stolen from them, but a GPS unit, pocketbook, loose change and gift cards were taken from some, police said.

The total value of the items is approximately $880.

Anyone with information regarding the burglaries is asked to call the Parsippany Police Department at 973-263-4300 or emailing crime_tips@parpolice.com.

Earlier this week two residential break-ins was reported to police as well, where bedrooms were ransacked and an iPad and box of jewelry were stolen. Police are seeking information in that case as well.
