Halloween Postponed, New Closing Info from Police

The latest Sandy status update from Parsippany Police.

The Township of Parsippany-Troy Hills is still under a state of emergency, says Parsippany Police.

In a statement just released by Chief Anthony DeZenzo, he reminded residents that driving on roads in the township of Parsippany is prohibited until further notice. He added that driving restrictions likely will be in effect Wednesday.

DeZenzo also stated that Halloween trick-or-treating is postponed until further notice.

In other government news, there will be no garbage, recycling or yard waste pickup on Wednesday.

All township offices will be closed on Wednesday, as they were Monday and Tuesday. Non-essential township employees are not to report for work.

Chief DeZenzo added that the Parsippany Water Department is still operating using backup generators. Residents are asked to conserve water until full power is restored to township infrastructure.

He also asked Parsippanians to call 9-1-1 only in the event of a true emergency.
